Took all I had not to put 5 stars, but I just couldn't after the last sentence. Seriously, just one sentence! Read the book, you'll be happy you did, especially if you love the author, but skip the very last 10 words or so, just do it. I'm betting you now want to read them more than ever, but save yourself and skip it so you too can enjoy this book for a fast paced, fun, quick read with a few unbelievable twists and a tear welling moment or two. I like Christa Wick's books, read them all and rarely leave a review because there are typically so many glowing reviews already there, but this just has to be said and said again, unless you want to fall out of your chair from a violent eye roll, skip the very last sentence. It is a very "oh, come on!" moment, complete with spitting out what you are currently drinking. I've never had this reaction to one of her books, but this was just too cheesy a note to leave it on. Fellow readers, take heed and go enjoy and to the author, please keep up the great work and try to hold back on the sappy last lines so we can love your work to the very last sentence.Product details

This story seemed darker than others I've read by Christa Wick. I don't think there was one really light-hearted moment and like other reviewers I wasn't crazy about how it wrapped up. I'd like to give it 3.5 stars because I've enjoyed other books by this author much more. This one was good, just not great.
I was super excited about this as I read it. It had been a while since I truly loved one of wick's books like I did this one.... it was 5 stars all the way till the end where it just didn't do it for me... Ian was so strong and dominant in the beginning then.... I don't know what happened. But all in all, it was one of her better books as of late.

Totally engrossed in the story from the beginning, then wishing there was no ending, just wanted it to carry on and on and on.
E njjoyed Chrlstas stories, this one was no exception. Animal rescue was a different add to the story. Lo ved the ending for Keating.
Really enjoy Wick's books. This one was longer than some of the early ones, which I appreciated. Always a smart storyline with plenty of well done research and character development.
